Nevada Choate Obituary: A heavy wave of grief has enveloped Madison Township following the heartbreaking and sudden loss of Nevada Choate, a beloved father, mentor, and community advocate, who tragically lost his life in a violent car accident on the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2025.
The fatal crash occurred around 9:00 PM along State Route 528 (S. Madison Road) when a vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a driveway culvert, became airborne, and overturned. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency crews from the Madison Township Police Department and Madison Fire District rushed to the scene. Choate, critically injured, was transported to UH Geneva but was sadly pronounced dead at the hospital. The crash remains under investigation, with speed suspected as a contributing factor.
Nevada Choate Remembered as a Devoted Father and Community Mentor
At 38 years old, Nevada Choate had built a life grounded in service, compassion, and resilience. A devoted father to two young children, ages 6 and 10, he was deeply involved in their lives — coaching Little League, assisting with school activities, and passing down values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance.
Beyond his role as a father, Choate was known as a respected youth mentor in Madison Township. For over a decade, he volunteered his time in local mentorship programs, offering guidance, encouragement, and hope to at-risk youth. His calm nature and steady guidance made him a trusted figure among teens and parents alike.

“He was the kind of man who made you feel seen, even when the world overlooked you,” shared one former mentee.
In the wake of this tragedy, the community has come together to honor Choate’s memory. A candlelight vigil held Monday evening at the local community center drew hundreds of residents who shared heartfelt stories of his kindness and lasting impact.
