Emmet Zodrow has sadly passed away: It is with heavy hearts that the family and community of Green Lake, Wisconsin, share the tragic news of the passing of Emmet Zodrow on June 25, 2025, at the age of 12.
Emmet lost his life in a heartbreaking bicycle accident on the grounds of the Castecker Library, leaving behind a deep void in the lives of his loved ones and the tight-knit Green Lake community.
A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by Sue Bloch of Green Lake, has been launched to support the Zodrow family and honor Emmet’s memory through meaningful local projects and initiatives.
Obituary for Emmet Zodrow
Emmet Zodrow was a vibrant, joyful soul whose bright smile, sparkling blue eyes, and infectious personality lit up every room he entered. He was full of love, laughter, and kindness, and will be remembered most for the happiness he brought to his family, friends, and community.
Emmet loved riding his bike, playing baseball, reading books, and spending time with his friends. He shared a special bond with his younger sister, Elliat, and cherished moments spent with his family.
Emmet also took great pride in helping with his parents’ businesses and had a unique hobby of hiding painted rocks throughout the town—bringing smiles to those who discovered them.
His untimely passing has deeply impacted everyone who knew him, and the entire Green Lake community is united in grief and remembrance of a beautiful young life taken far too soon.
Fundraiser to Honor Emmet’s Legacy
In response to this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up by family friend Sue Bloch to support the Zodrow family and celebrate Emmet’s life through community-driven initiatives. The funds will go toward:
- Building a raised pitching mound at Murray Park in Ripon
- Creating a memorial garden and reflection area at the Castecker Library
- Making upgrades to local baseball fields
- Establishing a scholarship fund for the AYA (Angler and Young Angler) club, a cause close to Emmet’s heart
These projects are designed to reflect Emmet’s passions and to ensure his memory continues to inspire future generations.
