The Winston-Salem, North Carolina community is reeling after the tragic and senseless death of Jacob Diehl, 20, who was fatally shot in the early morning hours of June 25, 2025, outside the Gardens at Country Club Apartments.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 2:10 a.m. at the 200 block of Dalewood Drive. Jacob Diehl was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot and pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
